The Beauty Academy (formerly known as the Herts & Essex Academy) was set up 15 years ago, and is opening its 9th training centre this summer (2007) in Manchester.

Training courses available include - holistic therapy treatments, beauty treatments, nail treatments and combination courses. We also offer correspondence (or 'home-study') courses.

The Beauty business is one of the fastest growing industries in the UK. So there is great demand for qualified therapists either working from home, mobile, or in salons, hotels, spas and cruise ships. This growth has aided our expansion to become one of the leading providers of beauty courses in the UK.

Our quality training is the key to your success. Which is why The Beauty Academy has grown to nine training centres and gone from strength to strength over the past 15 years. Two other factors also apply; small tutor groups limited to four students and the friendly and relaxed style of our experienced tutors. As a result of this, some courses have a waiting list with many students returning for further training courses.

We provide City & Guilds Qualifications, and all our courses are ASET accredited.

The standard of the qualifications offered by most reputable schools and colleges are set and regularly monitored by the various examining bodies. These are:

C & G – City & Guilds of London Institute
BTEC – Business & Technical Education Council
CIDESCO – Le Comite Internationale D’Esthetiques
ITEC – International Therapy Examination Council
CIBTAC – Confederation of Beauty Therapists & Cosmeticians
VTCT – Vocational Training Charitable Trust
NVQ – National Vocational Qualification (offered through C & G and VTCT)

Schools and colleges providing these qualifications are regularly visited by external inspectors to ensure quality training, qualifications of tutors, adequate equipment and premises etc.
